“10,000 Links in the Chain of Survival”, promoted by Rural Health Community Systems, Inc. intends to teach 10,000 Steuben County Residents how to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Over the next three years. Rural Health Community Systems training partners, the American Red Cross Greater Steuben Chapter and the American Heart Association will provide CPR training throughout Steuben County.

Armed with this knowledge, you, your friends and family will be able to initiate CPR and save lives. For a nominal fee you can be trained to respond when a friend, neighbor, fellow worker or a loved one is stricken with a cardiac event.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in the United States. Each year 330,000 people die of coronary heart disease; 150,000 SCAs occur out in the real world at home, work or on the street. A high percentage of these deaths can be avoided with the help of properly trained CPR participant.

When a person goes into cardiac arrest it is essential that Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation be started immediately for there to be a positive outcome. If you are the only person there wouldn’t you like to know that you have the necessary skills to be able to assist and possibly save a life? This program can give you the skills you need to step forward and make a difference.

We hope you will take advantage of the program and become one of the 10,000 people in Steuben County willing to help in this very important effort.

CPR training may well make you a life saver!

Please, watch for announcements, bulletins or your local newspapers
to find out when this program is being offered in your community.
